Ontario’s request to the federal government to address housing affordability went largely ignored – but that means the province will likely take matters into its own hands

Be advised that Vancouver's Foreign Buyers tax simply cooled the high-end market! Local Buyers and even Foreign buyers continue to push prices higher (via bidding wars) in the lower-mid end of the market, which in Metro Vancouver means any Strata property/house under $1 Mil!

"Misguided claims" of affordability improvements are only in the high-end market where Foreign buyers prefer to park money
    (ironic is'nt it?)

Provincial and Toronto gaverments do not to take any action to cool Toronto real estate market. Why?
    Follow the money.....

Why isn't the Ontario Government doing this instead of asking the Federal Government? Strange.

The market will correct itself when it becomes unaffordable however to help increase supply there should be a combination of things.
    1. A tax on foreign buyers to minimize the the number of foreign buyers/ownership of a limited product
    2. The minimum down payment % should be increased to qualify for a mortgage and this will help protect buyers from getting in over their head and slow down buying.
