I presently have a mortgage on another house. I am in the process of selling this house but myself and my better half have since seen a house we would like to buy. My current mortgage is merely a standard mortgage and isn't a buy to let one or anything. My question is can I have two mortgages at the same time? I have read that this isn't possible, but then I read someplace else that is. Can anyone advise if I can have 2 mortgages on 2 separate properties at the same time or is the best thing to do, to bring the house in my partners name, then once the 2 year fixed rate has expired and I have sold my house, re - mortgage it to be in both our names?
