Green property can bring higher rents

Landlords of greener properties can yield higher rents, according to a new study.

The study, by Nils Kok of Maastricht University in The Netherlands and Avis Devine of the University of Guelph in Canada, looked at 58 million square feet of property managed by Bentall Kennedy over a decade.

It found that not only could landlords of environmentally-friendly buildings bring in higher rent but they also achieved higher occupancy rates, renewals and tenant satisfaction.
