Homeowners are not impressed by community mailboxes

Community mailboxes, which has been increasing in urban areas of Canada, are becoming an election issue.

Ottawa Centre MP Paul Dewar told the Ottawa Citizen that he gets more complaints about the mailboxes than any other issue, especially over the location of the boxes.

With the NDP likely to want the use of the boxes reversed if it were to form a government it is likely to be a hot topic through to October’s election.

Although condo owners are used to collecting their mail from a central location, houseowners are keen to continue the traditional delivery of mail to their own front door.
