More should be done to help millennials buy says CIBC poll

More than half of Canadians polled by CIBC want more to be done to help young Canadians buy homes.

Unsurprisingly, in the 18-34 age group that view is held by 68 per cent but half of older Canadians agree.

The mortgage lender’s survey also found that 63 per cent of millennials want to buy a home in the next five years but are challenged by saving for the downpayment.

Job security and rising home prices are also major obstacles to home ownership.
