‘Star Wars house’ lists for $439,900

A home billed as the ‘Star Wars house’ has been listed in Ottawa for $439,900.

The mention of the famous movie refers to the unique build of the home at Upper Dwyer Hill Road, which is said to be similar to Luke Skywalker’s aunt and uncle’s home due to its domes.

Seller Ray Moulton told the Ottawa Citizen that the home he had built in 2006 was inspired by his love of Star Wars-themed gaming: “For me, I thought of science fiction and fantasy stuff — my wife thought it was just cool.”

The home is not just a paradise for sci-fi geeks, it also has a strong environmental purpose, using less energy to heat and built to withstand tornados, hurricanes and earthquakes.
