Toronto sees condo baby boom

More families are shunning the leafy suburbs and opting for downtown living in Toronto.

The Huffington Post reports that neighbourhoods, such as The Waterfront and the Bay Street corridor, are seeing a surge in family living.

It cites City of Toronto data showing that the number of children aged four and under rose by 60.25 per cent in The Waterfront from 2008-2011, second only to the Danforth at 81.43 per cent.

In the Bay Street corridor the number of young children has increased by 32.5 per cent compared to growth of 26.27 per cent for the general population.
