Realtors are open to feedback, both good and bad. But only if it’s on the right platform, or so says one agent.
Despite reputations being tarnished and targeted by internet trolls, many Realtors are still open to agent ranking and review sites. But only if they are on a secured website.
While agent ranking and review sites have become increasingly popular, many Realtors have been slow to embrace them due to the risk of being the target of negative remarks.
However, one Realtor association has taken the initiative and rolled out an organized client satisfaction platform, RE Experience. All members of the Association of Saskatchewan Realtors (ASR) were invited to participate in the service, which was launched on June 16.
Approximately 13 per cent of the association’s members are participating. “A small percentage have opted out (less than 2%) but that is expected, and although it’s too early to judge overall numbers, the service seems to be tracking well and we are very excited,” says Bill Madder, CEO of the association. Clients are sent a survey by the Realtor after a sale has been made, with the responses posted to the site.
Speaking to CREW about the service, Realtor Mike Boychuk says Realtors should not be afraid to receive client feedback.
“Of course, there is a concern that exits for such forums but we trust that the feedback provided is a true reflection of the clients experience dealing with us,” he says. “We obviously strive for providing the best service, but we also recognise that feedback provides us with opportunities to improve. It is better to be aware of any issues than hearing about them second hand.”
He also believes such a system would help consumer confidence in the market. “Any effort to provide customers with a way of evaluating agents in a safe manner is a step forward,” he says. “There is a very large appetite for rating systems by consumers. And we can’t ignore that.”
