Mayor Pat Fiacco announced the plan Tuesday at a news conference. Some 53 acres of the inner city would be revitalized and include the new home of the Canadian Football League’s Saskatchewan Roughriders. The development would occur on old railway lands, as well as housing at the old football stadium that would be replaced.
The sports facility should be ready by 2015, said Fiacco, along with other development. That would be followed by about 700 residential units on the old stadium site, to be completed by 2020.
