Household budgets in British Columbia will be eased from this week as the provincial government scraps bridge tolls.
The tolls on the Port Mann and Golden Ears bridges will end Friday, saving families who have to regularly cross the Fraser River $1,500 per year. With more than 160,000 crossings of the two bridges every day, savings in dollars and time will be welcomed.
“We’re going to deliver on the investments needed to serve families and grow our economy, across B.C. in a way that is fair for all families,” said Transportation and Infrastructure Minister Claire Trevena.
