The man who presided over the numbers for the Canadian Real Estate Association (CREA) has retired.

Gregory Klump joined CREA in 1992 as a staff economist before being promoted to chief economist in 2005 and leading his team to its status as an authoritative source of Canadian real estate and market analysis.

He was also key to the development of the MLS Home Price Index and was a member of CMHC's National Housing Research Committee as well as a contributor to the Economic Research Committee of the Canadian Home Builders Association.

Mr Klump was regularly seen on camera discussing the state of the Canadian housing market. The last time he appeared on the CREA YouTube channel was in December 2019, discussing the November stats.
