It may be one of the hottest housing markets in Canada, and popular with buyers around the world, but Vancouver has been branded “mind-numbingly boring” by The Economist.
The article hits back at the city’s frequent rankings as a great place to live and says that the nicer it becomes the more boring it becomes. The business-travel writer, known simply as Gulliver asks: “What right-minded person would rank Vancouver better than Paris?”
CBC notes that Gulliver doesn’t make it clear if he’s even visited Vancouver and highlights a range of things in the city that are not boring.
With the sky-high prices and the many who struggle to afford mortgage payments and rents in the city, there’s certainly no shortage of those who emphatically disagree with Gulliver’s assessment.
