Conrad Black hit with lien on Toronto mansion

Conrad Black’s sale of his estate in Toronto’s Bridle Path for $16.5 million may not turn out as sweet as it seemed. The former media tycoon sold the 26 Park Lane Circle mansion in March but has been hit with two liens on the home claiming unpaid tax of more than $15 million.

Black filed an application for a judicial review this week disputing the basis on which the Canada Revenue Agency’s liens were granted. He intends to continue living in the home under a lease agreement with the new owner.
