A developer has listed a Vancouver penthouse with the condition that the new owner will have to commit to the city.
The 6,830 square foot home at the top of the Hotel Georgia boasts panoramic views and the entire 48th floor of the hotel’s private residencies.
Developer Bruce Langereis isn’t about to sell the $18 million luxury home to a foreign investor though; he wants someone who’s going to live in the home.
Langereis says the owner should either be a current Vancouverite or someone who will live in the property for most of the time at least.
If you think he may be pulling a publicity stunt then think again; this home has been on the market for three years with none of the potential buyers meeting the requirements.
It may be on the market for some time to come, though, as many of Vancouver high-end buyers are international jet-setters who may feel unable to commit to a stay-at-home lifestyle.
